Medical Director, Hebrew Home at Riverdale by RiverSpring Health

Zachary Palace, MD, completed his undergraduate training at Yeshiva University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Hebraic Studies. He attended the State University of New York-Downstate Medical School, where he received his MD degree. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine as well as a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine, at Staten Island University Hospital, and is board-certified in both specialties. He is credentialed as a CMD by the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA). Dr. Palace joined the medical staff of the Hebrew Home as a staff geriatrician in 2000, and was appointed Medical Director of the facility in 2006. He serves on various committees, including quality assurance, ethics, pharmacy, infection control, and re-hospitalization review. He is also involved in medical education, precepting medical students at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine during their rotations at the Hebrew Home. He co-authored the chapter on Medical Ethics in the textbook, “Primary Care Geriatrics,” and has published several articles on long-term care geriatric medicine. Dr. Palace was recently awarded the AMDA Foundation 2015 Quality Improvement Health Outcomes Award.
