VIDEO: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Treating Pediatric Headache

Andrew Hershey, MD, PhD, FAHS, Endowed Chair and Co-Director of Cincinnati Children's Headache Center, sat down with Neurology Advisor at the 2016 Child Neurology Society Annual Meeting to discuss his center's multidisciplinary approach to treating pediatric headache.

The two-fold approach includes a full neurological and headache examination to establish diagnosis. Once a diagnosis is established, the team develops an acute and preventative treatment plan that may include pharmacotherapy, as well as psychological interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy and bio-behavioral therapy, which helps teach children how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
