Cough and cold:
Indications for MUCINEX DM:
Chest congestion. Cough.
Adult:
Swallow whole. 1–2 tabs every 12 hours. Max: 4 tabs/day.
Children:
Not recommended.
Contraindications:
During or within 14 days of MAOIs.
Warnings/Precautions:
Asthma. Lower respiratory disorders. Pregnancy. Nursing mothers. Mini-Melts: Renal disease. Magnesium-restricted diet.
Pharmacologic Class:
Antitussive + expectorant.
Interactions:
Hypertensive crisis with MAOIs (see Contraindications).
Adverse Reactions:
GI upset, drowsiness, headache, rash.
